I actually stumbled across this weight loss method by accident and it has become my way of life.

When I hit the tender age of 30 and my metabolism started to slow down,my waist line started to expand, and yes....

Before we go any further I want to share my back story with you, this is something that I have never really done before, but it's to show you that I am not a genetically gifted, 'part man, part machine and part Greek God' person....

My back story began in my early thirties....

This was when I experienced my first major life slap, AKA the metaphoric 'kick in the crown jewels' so to speak... when I got FIRED from the job I thought I was going to do for the rest of my life.

13 yrs on I can still picture the scene: It was the 17th of December 2007, amazing timing I know, I remember having to hand in my company phone and car and being dropped back at home by the same person who decided to fire me, my line manager who openly disliked me.

As I got out of the car, I saw my wife Elaine at the door. Both of us were clearly upset and close to tears, I walked up to her saying "Stay strong... don't let him (my ex-boss) have the satisfaction of seeing you upset"
(a few more choice words were said as you can imagine...).

The timing couldn't have come at a worse time, besides the fact we were a week out before the holiday season, we had just moved into to our new family home after our newest addition to the Mirza family, Elisha, who was still a baby.

After feeling the shock, I soon began to feel like a failure. I felt I had let my parents down and let my wife and children down too. I'd never experienced anything like this before nor had I expected it. Soon my emotions changed; anger and depression followed after the shock, it affected me mentally but also physically (this is when my weight began to creep up).

Growing up I had desires just like everyone else.

I wanted to be a dad whose kids would be proud of at their parents evenings because their dad looked strong and muscular. (What can I say..... I grew up in the 80's where my movie idols were people like Stallone, Schwarzenegger and Van Dam...so you can see my self imposed standards were high).

But just like any son, I wanted to make my parents proud,and just like any husband and father I wanted to give my family the lifestyle they deserve.

The external struggle for me was that I took on a job, any job that I could find back in 2008....

Please don't judge me, but it was for the RBS group just as they had been bailed out by the taxpayers for the cowboy banking antics.

In my defence I was desperate for a job. BUT I soon realised I had absolutely no passion for banking or the underhand and unethical behaviours, I felt trapped... in a job that I hated.

The Internal struggle for me was that the job was draining the excitementand passion out of me.

At the time I didn't see it, but with hindsight it affected my mental state of mind...and of course my waist line.

At the time I used to care about the opinions of others, how I'd be perceived by my parents, my wife, my children, my family, society, friends and peers and secretly by myself,as a FAILURE.

The problem, or my Wall was that my mental state of mind started to affect, not only my relationships with my wife, my outlook on life, but also my body.

Putting weight on throughout my mid 30's drove my self-confidence and esteemfirmly into the ground.

I felt that my life was not matching the blueprint of how I thought my life was going to be and I felt out of control to change it.

Then I had my Epiphany moment...

They say 'everything in life happens for a reason.' Had I not been in that job that I hated, I wouldn't have been in a team meeting when a motivational speaker was brought in to help boost staff morale.

That was my light bulb moment, to do the same, to inspire and to help others.

I could feel the excitement and passion coming back into my veins.

So I did what I do best as an all or nothing kind of guy, I decided to go all in….Which meant quitting my job just before hitting 40!

In my Plan, I invested £1000's into becoming a certified Life Coach, studying NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) Psychology and CBT(Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), to learn more about how we think and communicate and to understand how the mind works, and thus be able to help other people understand themselves better.

I spent hours watching and learning from the likes of Tony Robbins and Les Brown on how to master stage presence, so I too could have the confidence to speak on stages.

The plan was to teach personal development and help others to overcome limiting beliefs and to change perspectives. To enable people to step out of their comfort zone and discover their hidden talents and abilities, helping them live up to their true potential.

This is what I did on an International level, my dream allowed me to travel to the other side of the world, being flown out to Ethiopia and Botswana, Sudan, Ghana, Kenya and sharing my knowledge, teaching Transformational Leadership and Change Management to company leaders.

BUT there was a problem…

The conflict for me was even though I was making more money in three days than what I would in an entire month from my previous job, these speaking events weren't guaranteed.

That's when Elaine suggested I get a part-time job.

You see when I became self-employed, I made a pact with myself that I never wanted to be employed or do anything I wasn't passionate about ever again.
